Abstract: | Lakher and Pawi, also known respectively as Mara and Lai, are two tribes living in the Indian state of Mizoram, and in the Chin State of Myanmar. The two tribes have many very similar historical and cultural characteristics. Historical and cultural evidences strongly suggest that the Lakher were once a part of the Pawi tribe. |
