Abstract: Entrepreneurship has widened the scope for innovation. People around the world&#xD;
are not just looking for a job rather trying to create something for the society.&#xD;
Economic independence and being creative is a new mantra for the younger&#xD;
generation. In recent times startups and SMEs have gained popularity among the&#xD;
youths. Thus, we can see numerous numbers of entrepreneurs finding their place in&#xD;
such a competitive yet earning environment. Nevertheless, we can’t ignore the fact&#xD;
that there is a lot of struggle to become a successful entrepreneur, and it starts with&#xD;
the proper strategy. The present study is to identify the most challenging aspect of any&#xD;
enterprises, i.e., marketing and its approaches. The paper considers the response of&#xD;
women entrepreneurs of northeast India and projects the marketing practices which&#xD;
lead to better enterprise performance.</description>

Abstract: Entrepreneurship has been defined differently by various scholars all over the world. One of the significant developments in the concept of entrepreneurship has been the gender specific concept of entrepreneurship. The female entrepreneurs or women entrepreneurs are being identified by scientific community in recent past. The definition of women entrepreneurs are defined only on the basis of the enterprises which has been run or owned by the females. The role of women entrepreneurs for women empowerment as well as for economic development has been seen in the country like India. However, the role of women entrepreneurs in case of north east India has not been highlighted properly. The lack of research on women entrepreneurship in the region led to confinement of the idea of women entrepreneurship in India. The limited literatures on women entrepreneurship are reasons to have less knowledge about issues and challenges faced by female entrepreneurs in the region. The present paper figures out the available literature on women entrepreneurship and examine it accordingly. Thus present paper reflects the findings of available literatures on female entrepreneurship in north east India</description>
